A MODISH HONEYMOON

(ft. Hotel Mousai, Puerto Vallarta, Jal., Mexico)

Amongst other things, I measure my satisfaction with a getaway based
on the amount of hotel staff names I've memorized by the end of a trip. It's
kind of a natural calculation: we tend to memorize names of people
who sincerely succeed in making a positive impact on your experience.
I, along with Manjot, were amazed at the number of hotel staff friends
we made during our honeymoon at Hotel Mousai

And I thought, what better way to remember our blissful 7-night
getaway again than to pen it down and share it with my lovely readers.
We booked directly with the Hotel and had all of our questions and concerns
answered by Mr. Pablo Bolivar. An advantage of booking directly was that
we weren't referred to a third party to get our booking questions answered.

Our first impression, as we were being driven up a beautiful hill to get to
our hotel, was an encounter with beautiful pathways leading to different
hotel facilities, cleanliness, and well-kept landscape. Having Manjot by my
side made everything look even more immaculate, obviously. We were
greeted by a gentlemen named Ricardo, who helped us get out of our cab,
took care of our baggage and led us to reception. We were just stunned by
the main entrance – it was everything we wanted it to be: contemporary, chic,
yet inviting. As we were checking in with a beautiful girl named Ilsa, we were
handed refreshment drinks. We wrapped up from reception and took in the
spectacular views the ocean had to offer, just adjacent to the Marcela’s,
our private concierge, desk.

Having Ultra Mousai Corner suite meant we were at the top of the building
which we were ecstatic about. As soon as we entered our suite, I made several
attempts to contain my excitement as Ricardo was finishing up with setting our
luggage in the room. I could see Manjot doing the same. As soon as he left, we
examined each luxury the room had to offer – the variation of chocolates and
champagne waiting for us by our sitting area, beautiful floor to ceiling sliding
glass doors, lush bedding and a pillow menu. A pillow menu - seriously. Our
amusement with the iPad operated ambience system was perpetual: We
controlled the music, lights, mood lighting and drapery with a finger-touch
all seven days during our stay.

Just behind our bed wall was an entrance to a luxurious experience.
Dual vanities on one side of the wall and an all-white vanity on the opposite
was what we stepped into. While my eyes were stuck to the all-white vanity
coupled with a ghost chair, Manjot was focused on the dual sinks. It was a
win-win for both of us. Other bathroom features were L’Occitane toiletries,
walk in rain shower, a Toto bidet toilet and two full sized closets enclosed
by floor to ceiling mirrored doors.

Stepping outside, our private terrace was embellished with jetted plunge
pool, a hammock and comfy patio furniture.

Even the glass railing without handrails, surrounding all corners of our
terrace didn’t go unnoticed. It made the view from my room unhindered.

The terrace was easily our favourite spot - we witnessed many sunrises
and sunsets during the entirety of our stay.

By the time we finished examining all the amenities our suite had to offer,
it was time to replenish our energy. We had seen endless amount of pictures
of the famous rooftop pool in the time leading up to our trip. It was finally
time to witness it with our naked eyes. We hurried to the elevator and on
to the 18th floor. Our doors opened to a view which would make it on
everybody’s bucket list.

An expansive infinity pool surrounded by views of Banderas Bay,
playful tunes, and the food aroma entertained our senses. We knew
this is where we would spend majority of our time and we happily did.

This is also where we met some amazing people from the hotel. We heard
countless stories by our favourite server, JP (Juan Pablo), over
sumptuous snacks and treats.

Our butler, Omar, assured us he was only a phone call away. David, who
was present at almost every restaurant we went to, ensured our
all-vegetarian menu was curated with utmost care and flavour.

The rare times we wanted to have a relaxing night in, we counted on room
service to excite our tastebuds. I must confess, we weren't disappointed.

Having noticed my pictures, the social media head, Aline, and team
organized a fun shoot at the rooftop. I was ecstatic to be a part of it. The
pictures they produced are magic. Aline, Daniel, and Carlos won my
heart with their amicability and professionalism.

A big big thank you to Hotel Mousai for an incredible experience
Manjot and I always cherish.
